With the development and growth of the importance of entrepreneurship, new, more dynamic and more favorable ways of financing have developed. Crowdfunding is a very simple financing model, which does not require a credit ability check, so the whole process is faster. The peculiarity of crowdfunding is that it can reach different parts of the market, not necessarily only the for-profit sector, but also the non-profit sector and parts of the market that deal with socially beneficial backgrounds and other. This method of financing is particularly interesting for small and medium-sized enterprises, where crowdfuning is applied through various platforms, the main types of which are donations, prizes, ownership shares and lending money. When it comes to crowdfunding in Croatia, it is possible to say that lagging behind developed countries is significant. The implementation of this method of financing is almost non-existent, while in Croatia there are only four platforms for crowdfunding, while in the world there are over a thousand of them. The biggest difficulties that arise in the application of crowdfunding in Croatian entrepreneurship are certainly the Croatian bureaucracy, but also the lack of legislation that is needed for the consistent application of this method of financing. However, if Croatian entrepreneurship is planning to go in the direction of developed European and world countries, it is certainly necessary to strengthen awareness of the existence of such a financing model and encourage micro, small and medium enterprises to use it.
