Glaucoma is leading cause of irreversible visual lost and blindness in the world. Regarding the aging of the population with consequent higher prevalence of chronic diseases, the prevalence of glaucoma will increase along with its consequences on the vision and everyday activities. Due to the nature of the disease, necessity of everyday and lifelong therapy, glaucoma is often accompanied with depression and anxiety. Therefore, the patients with glaucoma need a holistic approach which will take into consideration the patient’s emotional state, social conditions and the ability of completing everyday tasks. In this sense it is important to evaluate the Quality of life (QoL) of adults, immature and their guardians. According to the literature, instruments used in determining the QoL are those related to general health, vision specific and glaucoma specific. Resent studies show that there is no ideal measure instrument for determining the Quality of life in persons suffering from glaucoma. Studies based on present QoL questionnaires increasingly contribute to patients:relate the patients subjective perception to the physician’s perception of the disease, distract the patients attention on the possible symptoms and nature of the disease in the beginning of the establishing the diagnosis, poses educational character, contribute to the protection of the patient’s mental health, drive attention to the rehabilitation and adaptation to the patient’s everyday activities consequeentally. It is important to strive to the creation of more appropriate measure instrument for determining Quality of life in the patients with the glaucoma.
