Advances in technology in recent decades have provided therapists with more options for compensating for the lost teeth. In addition to dentures and bridges, dental implants are often therapeutic agent. Prosthetically driven implantology is a novel concept in implant prosthetics. The key to the concept is detailed planning of the prosthetic work before the implant placement, followed by the implant placement in accordance with the planned future prosthetic work. Such an approach enables better predictability of the position and function of the prosthesis, reduces the possibility of complications, and shortens the patient’s adjustment to the prosthetic replacement. In addition to computer-guided implant placement, software is used that plans the ideal placement of the implant with respect to the position and function of the future work. Although the number of complications has been reduced with this concept, they still exist, and can be divided into complications related to the implant placement and complications related to the production of a prosthetic work. Surgical complications can occur during and after the surgery, and prosthetic complications during the wearing of temporary and definitive prosthetic work.
